I wanted to talk about journaling, something I absolutely love doing and always have.
Journaling doesn't need to be complicated - it's about writing down what is in your head and getting it "off your chest". It doesn't need to be in any order. This isn't for anyone except for you. You may not even read what you have written, and you don't need to.
If you want to skip the chit-chat, scroll down for some simple journaling prompts you can use.
I have always found it so therapeutic to write out what I'm feeling. It's helped me process my thoughts and emotions and l almost coaching myself through difficult situations, through my journaling.
I know this is something that does not come easily to others. I know the thought of actually picking up a pen and blank piece of paper to write down your thoughts is extremely daunting. But I want to reassure you that what is on the other side of a 'brain dump' on that paper is typically clarity and calm.
You don't have to be prone to anxiety or be much of an over-thinker to need time to processes your thoughts, especially with the current pandemic. We have all found ourselves at a time of significant change and under pressure in different ways.
Journaling is a great way to process everything going on. Pandemic or not, it is a great tool to use for anything you are going through in life and to simply keep your mental health on top form.
Here are a few prompts to help you journal a little easier:
How was my day?
How am I feeling today?
What am I worrying about?
What am I grateful for today?
What would 40 / 50 / 60 / 70 year old me think about my behaviour / life today?
What will I do for myself tomorrow that I didn't make time for today?
What was did I learn about myself today?
How can I make more time for myself tomorrow?
I hope these help! Happy journaling!!
Lots of love,
Kim xx
